Tonight was my Tuesday night track session at my running club with Alan our coach. For the warm-up we did 2 laps of the track (800m) followed by numerous warm-up exercises and drills from Alan before doing 6 x 800m with 4 minute intervals. During each of the 800m Alan would blow his whistle at a random point and you had to sprint for 5 seconds beofre he blew the whistle again and you resumed normal (still fast but not sprint) pace. Have to say I found it a tough one tonight mainly because of the wind, it was really blustery and quite chilly, I was struggling to feel my hands towards the end of it especially with the 4 minute recoveries. However, it was a still a good session and I feel I gave it as much as I could tonight although it did leave me wondering a little bit how I’m going to motivate myslef to keep going in the winter 🙂 Having complained about the wind and the cold tonight I must admit that Autmumn is actually one of my favourite seasons, if not my favourite – I just love all the leaves coming down in all their different colours and the crisp mornings and dazzling, almost blinding, sun and all the kids going back to school, I always feel like it’s a time for fresh starts and new beginnings.
