Today not only did I go for my walk in daylight hours but I went for 2 walks and both before it was dark – this was mainly because I ran out of time the first time I went out so decided to head out again later for a briefer walk but still it’s better going than the last few days!
I went for lunch with my sister, Claire, and a old school friend, Rebecca, today which was lovely to do whilst I’m back in Leam 🙂 We ate at a small Italian cafe/restaurant and I opted for a tuna salad, all very nice.
Tonight I’m off to the cinema with Claire to see ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo’ while Dan stays home and looks after Caolan. I’ve not read the book but my sister is currently reading it and finding it impossible to put down.
I headed out for my first walk before meeting Claire and Becs for lunch. I dragged my Mum out for the first bit and she walked round the block with me which is about 0.8 miles before she headed back to the house. I walked a total of 2.79 miles in just under 40 minutes during my first walk and then later this afternoon I walked a further 1.44 miles in just over 21 minutes during which I made the mistake of including walking past the local school at exactly what appeared to be hometime in my route so it was a little chaotic with kids running round everywhere and me trying to navigate round them and their parents plus all the pushchairs etc., d’oh!
I was catching up on some of the Janathon blogs the other day when I came across #Fitteam12 January Challenge in Run for the Quiet‘s blog and was intrigued so took a look to see what it was all about and have decided to give it a whirl. For January there are 2 challenges, the first challenge being: no drinking in January but there are 3 levels to this: 1 – no drinking at all, 2 – 2 nights of drinking and 3 – 4 nights of drinking. I will be following level 3 (!) The second challenge is the Leg challenge, again there are 3 levels and I have started off on level 2, hoping to move to level 1 at some point during the month. The leg challenge consists of squats and lunge walks and if I’ve got the jist of it right level 2 is 2 squats, 2 lunge walks, 4 of each…up to 10. The leg challenge is to be done on Mon/Tues/Thurs and Fri but as I only read about it on Tuesday or Wednesday and was deciding whether or not to take up the challenge I didn’t start it until yesterday. I tried it out yesterday and feel OK today , just done the leg challenge again now and it doesn’t seem to have had an adverse effect on my shoulder so far so I’m going to see how it goes. This week I plan on doing it Thurs/Fri/Sat and Sun to get the 4 sessions in then as normal from next week.
Hope you all have a great weekend 🙂
