Ran my first 5K in what must be months today, tra-la-la-la-la 🙂
My plan had been to go to Body Combat at 6pm and then do a run on the treadmill whilst at the gym. However traffic got in the way of that plan and I wouldn’t have made it to the class on time, I was a little gutted to say the least as I do love my Body Conbat classes. Instead I came home and decided to head our for a run and see how I got on and then possibly go for a cycle after. It felt really warm and really humid but also very windy and looked like it might chuck it down at any minute so not ideal running conditions for me – the colder the better for me and I don’t like it being windy either, would prefer it to be raining if I had to choose one. Anyone I set off and just kept plodding along and then a bit more and then a little bit more until I’d done 3.01 miles in 28:43, woo hoo! Certainly not my best 5K time but hey I’m happy with having completed the distance today and not so fussed by the time 🙂 I was feeling pretty good when I returned so I headed out on the bike and did just under 6 miles – it was generally a very nice ride except for the last mile or so which was a killer – the wind was against me full belt, felt like I was hardly moving! 😉 So a good day all in all even if I didn’t get to go to Body Combat.
