Thank Crunchie it’s Friday, that’s all I can say! 🙂
If I’m not going out on a Friday night I typically like to go to circuits at the gym at 5:30, it also makes sure I leave work at a decent time on a Friday! It’s an hour class and always fairly popular. The stations are as you’d expect – some type of press ups, shoulder presses, planks, suicide runs, skipping, boxing, plank etc. you get the idea and the music’s always pretty good. I sometimes couple it with a spin class straight after which is 45 mins long and by the time I’ve done both I can be a bit of a sweaty mess 😉 Either way I like to finish with a swim trying to put into practise what I’ve learnt from the session the night before while it’s still fresh in my head plus feel like it’s a good idea for my limbs after the circuits/spinning.
As it’s Juneathon tonight I thought I’d go to cicruits, do a run on the treadmill and go for a swim and in that order (no spinning). Ideally I’d prefer to get the run out of the way before cicruits as my legs often don’t want to play ball but I just can’t get away from work in time to do that. At the last minute however I succumbed to tempatation and signed up for spinning too, telling myself I could always give it a miss if circuits was particularly tough.
Not one give up too easily I did them all – circuits followed by spinning and then a short 2 miler on the treadmill finished off with 30 lengths front crawl in the pool. Have to say I found spinning a killer on the legs tonight, more so than usual, guess that’s the running everyday lark. The treadmill wasn’t as tough as I had thought it might be based on other times I’ve tried it after either class and the pool was nice and quiet when I did my swim which was lovely, so a nice finish.
Busy weekend ahead, off to Leamington tomorrow to Sunday so will be interesting to see how I fit in my Juneathon activity…may have to end up being a bit creative, we’ll see 😉
