So today was a bit of a different Saturday for me in terms of exercise as I routinely go to Reformer Pilates first thing and Fight Klub at 12 and then some other stuff around this. Decided to give both a miss today (as much as it killed me to do so) to allow my thumb a bit more time to recover. Instead I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill – ran my furthest yet since my hamstring injury and in my orthotics 🙂 and then went for a swim. I cycled to the gym in the end as the weather was so nice and it was forecast to rain from around 1pm onwards so thought it would be nice to make the most of it. Had a bit of a nightmare with my Garmin today in that part of the strap broke so I couldn’t put it on my wrist for cycling so instead I held the straps between my thumb and finger (on my left) resting on the handle on my bike…bit ropey I know especially with my right hand not being great either and the thought did go through my mind that if I dropped my Garmin at any point I would have to stop and pick it up regardless of the stiutation, dangerous or not – just hoped it didn’t come to that! Looked a bit like this…

Luckily for me it worked OK but definitely need to either put a new strap on (think a spare came with it? God knows where it is though…) or get the super glue out ahead of another trip out! The rain started earlier than planned and I got a little wet but it was only towards the end of my cycle home so not too bad, turned pretty miserable now though 😦 Run was a bit mixed, all came together in the 2nd half  but the first bit felt a bit hard work – music playing was a bit up and down, didn’t feel like my pace was right, wanted to stop…blah, blah, blah but perservered and found my rhythm and quite enjoyed the 2nd half 🙂 On Saturdays I always like to go for a swim as I have a bit more time than a night in the week, however because it’s a Saturday there’s usually kids swimming classes, family swimming etc. going on so they restrict the adult swimming lanes down to one. At other times they have a fast and a slow lane and then the main section. I usually just swim in the main section so find it a little stressful sometimes on a Saturday if for example you’re sharing the lane with a superfast swimmer which was the case today towards the end of my swim as I don’t like to be in their way or slow them down. The other swimmer seems OK though and didn’t seem to be too bothered by me, it may have been different if I still had another 40 lengths to do but as I only had 10 or 15 left I imagine it wasn’t too much of a bind.

Last couple of days of Juneathon…enjoy! 🙂
